Northern California: Rolex Big Boats Series held annually at the St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco, CA since 1993. This championship contains the St. Francis Perpetual Trophy. The regatta occurs in mid-September.
Southern California: So Cal Championship initiated in 2009 and continues annually at the Long Beach Yacht Club in Long Beach, CA. The regatta occurs in mid-August.
New England: Buzzard's Bay Regatta has served as the New England Championship but was replaced in 2010 by the West Passage Regatta (Wickford, RI) as part of the three-regatta Narragansett Bay Championship (with the Rolex and Sail Newport regattas). In 2011, the Narragansett Bay Championship will consist of the Sail Newport Regatta, the WPR, and the North American Championship.
East Coast: East Coast Championship rotates annually between Fleet 3 (Annapolis, MD area) and Fleet 6 (as part of New York Yacht Club Race Week). Fleet 3 hosts odd-numbered years typically at the end of October; Fleet 6 hosts even-numbered years in July. This championship contains a perpetual Class trophy. Additionally, the Chesapeake Bay Championship is hosted by Fleet 3 every Fall, typically at the end of October.
Great Lakes: Great Lakes Championship runs on a four-year rotation which began in Detroit (2008), Cleveland (2009), Chicago (2010), Toronto (2011), then the cycle repeats. The regatta typically occurs in late Summer or early Fall.
Texas: J/Fest initiated in 2010 and will continue annually each Fall in the Houston, TX area.
