2003 YRA Racing

For the J/105 Class, YRA Racing will be run under a different set of rules. These races are considered "developmental" in that they allow you to sail with professionals, bring all the sails you want and sail with any number of crew members.

YRALIS racing will be governed by the Fleet 6 Rules applicable to Fleet 6 Racing, Level C, except that the J/105 National Rules are modifed as:

(i) there will be no weight limit;

(ii) Sail carried on board are not limited with respect to registration requirements nor in their number, provided that all sails used nonetheless shall comply with National Rule 6 (including all subparts).

Comments:

1. YRALIS racing will be "Fleet 6 Racing" under the Fleet 6 Rules, subject to the national and Fleet 6 rules, but subject to the stated variations. Under the Fleet 6 and national Rules, Level C is the OPEN category: The crew aboard (excluding Owner) may consist of any combination of Group 1, 2 and 3 competitors. Translation: Pros are allowed!

2. Variation (ii) is intended to encourage people to come out with their backup sails, whether or not they have been officially measured - no one should hold back for fear of overusing the precious racing main!
